When a young person feels well, they achieve well. Our young people become role models in their communities thus influencing others and providing broader community benefits.
The drivers behind our program’s success centre on key pillars of prioritising our young people’s social and emotional wellbeing and keeping them connected to their culture.

“I have seen firsthand the work that the team at AFL Cape York Ltd is doing to close the gap in life outcomes for our First Nations young people. The AFL and everyone involved should be very proud of their work to provide a nurturing and inspiring place in which young people feel valued, heard and safe and a place that creates life opportunities. Young people and their communities are being provided with positive pathways through their boarding journeys at AFL Cape York Boys and Girls Houses, secondary education and into careers. The Social and Emotional Wellbeing Programs enable each student to manage their own emotions which leads to better school attendance and education outcomes. We all know how feeling good about ourselves relates to success and happiness. I applaud the team for making the effort to provide case by case support for individual students. The AFL Cape York House Foundation needs and deserves our support so that it can continue its great work with young people from Far North Queensland’s Remote Indigenous Communities.”

Similar to AFL Cape York House Foundation, we are driven by a strong passion and vision for the creation of Indigenous economic independence and prosperity via education and opportunity.
We are proud to play our small part in contributing and supporting the organisation’s mission of providing support to young First Nations students who reside in the boarding house while studying in Cairns, far from their families and communities.
The importance of making available services and programs to these students, ensuring they receive the guidance, care, and support they need during their educational journey, cannot be underestimated.
Well done to all involved.”
